We provide dance-in-education workshops, ranging from

one-day sessions up to one-week residencies giving young people in schools a unique experience in movement, rhythm and melody helping them to acquire a vocabulary to enable creative performance work. We strongly believe that such participatory-led workshops stimulate and enhance the creative skills of the children, deepen their cultural awareness and reward them with a sense of achievement

A typical one-day dance workshop

A one-day dance workshop is divided into four, one-hour sessions giving pupils an experience of movements in pure dance, folk dance and storytelling. The divided groups then come together in a fourth session to share their work with each other and the rest of the school, each performing their piece to South Asian music. These workshops would suit schools looking for dance activities as part of their India week or cultural celebrations.

Curricular enhancement through dance and the arts

Our education work engages schools in a wide range of cross-curricular subjects such as Science, RE, History, Literature etc. We offer planning sessions for teachers to discuss their specific requirements. We have also undertaken education subjects relating to studies in Indian, Greek and Egyptian mythology.

Special needs

Special projects

We offer a wide range of ‘off the shelf’ projects that have already been tried and tested in schools. These projects include:

Each of the projects comes with a full set of resource packs that include teacher’s notes and music tracks on CD.

Special projects

Individual schools project needs

These are projects initiated by individual schools themselves, for example projects that may include music, storytelling, art and dance.

Lecture Demonstrations

This consists of one to two hours sessions of workshops for PGCE students and teachers. This includes a video presentation and a demonstration.
